Faculty, Staff and Auxiliary employees can activate their Fresno State Gemini and NotebookLM by visiting services.fresnostate.ai.

To activate access to Fresno State Gemini and NotebookLM, students must first review and sign the Student Terms and Conditions for Use of Generative AI Tools & Solutions. This is a one-time requirement that grants access to all AI tools made available to students in the future. The agreement is available on the “To Do” list in the Student Portal. Once the form is signed and approved, students can activate their Fresno State Gemini and NotebookLM by visiting services.fresnostate.ai.

There is no cost for Fresno State students, faculty, or staff to use Gemini or NotebookLM within the Fresno State Google Workspace.

NotebookLM will be available as long as you are a matriculated student or employee at Fresno State. 

Gemini is an add-on feature to Google Workspace for Education that brings in the power of the Gemini generative AI models into the environment. It is not the Google AI Pro for Education premium model.

Gemini and NotebookLM includes AI features to help students and educators save time, enhance creativity, and improve learning through intelligent writing, research, and collaboration tools in Google Workspace.

Gemini/NotebookLM in Google Workspace is designed with strong security protections, though no system is entirely without risk. Fresno State Google Workspace Gemini license receives enterprise-grade data privacy. Submissions are not used to train AI models.

All interactions with Gemini and NotebookLM in Google Workspace remain within Fresno State’s secure domain. Prompts and generated content are stored safely alongside your existing Google Workspace data and are not shared outside the university.
